Lacrosse 2020

Welcome to West Springfield Boys Lacrosse

Update about our upcoming Spring 2021 season.
Unfortunately there are not a lot of details other than to say we will be playing lacrosse.  It may end up looking very different, but we will play.  At this time, the most likely start date of practices is mid April, with games starting in late April or early May.  However, there are still A LOT of unanswered questions.

One thing we are sure of is that rosters sizes will need to be different than previous years; we are currently working to update our rosters, giving first rights of refusal to families who paid last year and did not receive a refund.  Once those are set, registration will open for age groups that have space, and there will be a cap on the number of registrations allowed.

We will not collect any registration fees at this time, if you are able to register, you should not make the payment, we will collect payments once the practices begin, and payment in full will be required before the first game.

If you will need a uniform, we will work with you on the best option.

Information about our programs:

Learn to play will be an informal program, designed to expose players too young for a team, or Lightning age players that want more practice, to the simple fundamentals of lacrosse.  Please check back here for more information around Spring 2021; we will also communicate using the facebook page.

UPDATE -- unfortunately, due to a restricted schedule, shortened season, and a hos of other conflicts; we will not be offering a Learn to play option this Spring 2021 season.

Program for 1st and 2nd graders, who will play other towns in real lacrosse games.  This program will practice about twice a week and play one game on some weekends. Your child will need a full set of equipment for the lightning games.  As Lightning players, your children are welcome to still attend the LTP program.

(3rd/4th grade) Play half field games with full equipment against local teams.

(5th/6th grade) Your team is part of the CVYL schedule.  The Junior level requires more travel than the Bantam level.  Please plan accordningly.

(7th/8th grade) Practice or play games will be 5 to 6 days per week.  If practices are missed you will not play games.  Practices are mandatory.  With the commitment that is required, players that play two sports during the spring seaon will need to manage their time properly. We are preparing the team to play at the High School level.
